It was a busy weekend for Indiana Borough Police, with a number of incidents investigated.
Someone damaged the vehicle of an IUP student in the 300 block of Blairton Avenue. The back window was smashed out of the rented vehicle in the alley behind the building. The victim heard the incident occurring between 2 AM and 3 Am yesterday.
A hit-and-run driver damaged a vehicle parked in a private lit behind a home in the 600 block of Locust Street between last Thursday and Friday.
A stop sign was stolen from 1`3th and Washington streets overnight Saturday into Sunday morning.
Two signs that say “All people are welcome here” were swiped from a yard in the 100 block of North 5th Street between Thursday and Sunday.
And 21-year-old Tyler Russell of Lancaster was cited for retail theft at a store in the 700 block of along Wayne Avenue early yesterday.
BANKS TOWNSHIP
State police say a burglar used a hidden spare key to get into a camp along SDA Camp Road in Banks Township overnight last Thursday into Friday morning. A Marlin stainless steel .22 caliber rifle, Vizio 50-inch TV, Husqvarna chainsaw, Makita reciprocating saw, binoculars, a DVD player, tools and a trail camera were stolen. Total value of the missing items is $1,614. State troopers in Punxsutawney are investigating.
