James Larry Babco, 68, of Blairsville, PA (Black Lick Twp.) passed away on Monday, August 20, 2018 at the Indiana Regional Medical Center, Indiana, PA.
The son of Joseph Babco, Jr. and Margaret L. (George) Babco, he was born August 31, 1949 in Indiana, PA.
Jim graduated from Laura Lamar High School, Class of 1967 and worked for Coratomic, Season-all Industries, Erie Bearing Co. and Gorell Industries from which he retired in 2013.
He was a member of Homer City American Legion Post #493 and the Red Barn Sportsmen’s Club.
He was an outdoors guy, an avid hunter and fisherman and enjoyed going to camp.
Surviving are his wife of 36 years, Margaret V. (McCrea) Babco whom he married July 31, 1982; son, Todd T. Babco of Indiana; daughter, Jaime (Jason) Vandegrift of Sewell, NJ; four grandchildren, Kelsey Babco, Kaylee Babco, Ryan Babco and Dayton Lundberg; one great-grandchild, EmilyAnn Clark, a sister, Linda (Dennis) Balls of Homer City and a brother-in-law, Rocky Nastase of Indiana.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two grandchildren, Andrew Babco and Makayla Lundberg and a sister, Judy Nastase.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 P.M. Friday at the Shoemaker Funeral Home, Inc., 49 N. Walnut St., Blairsville, PA. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday at the funeral home with Rev. Brett M. Dinger officiating.
Interment will be in Hopewell United Methodist Cemetery, Black Lick Twp., PA.
Jim would like to extend a special thanks to his neighbors and friends at “The Pines” Campground, Maggie’s sisters and brothers and especially his wife and sister, Linda.
