A rally will be held outside of the Greensburg Catholic Diocese headquarters today in support of the victims of sexual abuse at the hands of clergy members.
WTAE-TV reports that the rally will start at 1:30 PM outside of the diocese headquarters on Pittsburgh Street in Greensburg. The group SNAP, meaning Survivors Network for those Abused by Priests, is putting on the rally. Some of the demands they are expected to voice during the rally is for police to make aggressive appeals for victims and witnesses, for prosecutors to be more aggressive in pursuing child sex crimes suspects, and for diocese officials to expose those who hid the reports of abuse.
This is in response to the recent grand jury report that came to light last week, where 20 members of the Greensburg Diocese were among the over 300 total clergy members named in the report.
The Greensburg Diocese serves Indiana County.
