One person was flown to Conemaugh Hospital in Johnstown after a crash involving a car and a pickup truck just south of Blairsville.
Blairsville firefighters were on the scene for the crash at 4:15 PM on Route 217 in Derry Township near the intersection of Torrance Road. Officials with the fire department said that the impact forced the car down an embankment into a wooded area. Firefighters had to cut away a small tree that was in the way before they could extricate the driver.
The driver was taken to a ball field in nearby Brenzier, where he was flown to the hospital. Right now, his condition is not known. Meanwhile the two in the pickup truck suffered minor injuries. Traffic on Route 217 was blocked for about 90 minutes while state police investigated and fire crews from Blairsville, Derry and Bradenville cleaned the scene.
