The White Township Planning Commission approved an update to the Stormwater Management Ordinance that will be forwarded to the Township Supervisors for their approval.
The new ordinance has been described as a complete rewrite of the prior ordinance. Assistant Manager Chris Anderson said they got a lot of information from other Storm water ordinances.
Code Enforcement Officer Matt Genchur said one of the biggest changes to the ordinance will be what would require a review by the township, which includes any new development that takes place requiring a review by the Township. This includes residential and commercial work.
The new ordinance will be up for approval at the next Township Supervisor meeting on August 22nd.
In other business, two free-standing structures were approved by the Planning Commission. One of them is a cell tower that will go on a portion of the White Township Recreation Complex Property. The other is a pole that will hold the restored Jimmy Stewart Cessna Airplane at the Jimmy Stewart Airport.
