Yesterday, the Blairsville High School Cafeteria was host to an open house meeting on the proposed pedestrian bridge over Route 22.
The meeting gave the public the opportunity to take a look at the plans for the proposed pedestrian bridge that would go over 22 with entry and exit points near Cornell road on the North side and the park and ride lot on the south side.
The project did have some opponents . One of them was Tammy Shields of Black Lick brought up with engineers with Gibson Thomas was safety, especially on the Cornell Road side.
Nick Puzack with Gibson Thomas Engineering said safety was the number one concern that people had brought up with him, but said that the project should exceed safety standards in place.
Comments were also collected as part of the plans display. The proposed bridge would help make a connection possible between the Hoodlebug Trail and the West Penn Trail.
