Samuel Joseph Taubler, 58 of Clarksburg, PA, born February 20, 1960 in Indiana, PA, he grew up in Blairsville. He is finally at rest after passing away at his home on Monday, August 6, 2018 after off again on again life long illnesses.
Sam served in the United States Coast Guard until an honorable medical discharge. He then worked as a letter carrier for the US Postal Service in Homer City and Indiana, where he retired 2 years ago. He then bought his life retirement dream car, a 78 Silver Anniversary addition Corvette.
Sam loved car shows, motorcycle riding and working outside in his garden. He also loved to eat out, traveling and the beach.
He was married for 39 years to his high school sweetie. They were together a total of 42 years. His ultimate passion was all of his family and friends, especially his son and grandchildren. In his words, “They were the lights of his life”. He was preceded in death by his parents, Bob and Vera (Bruni) Taubler and his brother, Robert Taubler. He is survived by his wife, Debbie (Pape) Taubler, Clarksburg; son, Jason C. Taubler, Homer City, PA; grandsons, Jackson & Wyatt Taubler; granddaughter, Piper Taubler; brother, Pete Leitza & wife, Diane, New Derry, PA; sister, Marylou Hutto, New Mexico; sister, Joann Duncan & husband, Joe, TX and brother, Anthony Leitza, Scranton, PA.
The family will receive friends at the James F. Ferguson Funeral Home, Inc., Blairsville, PA on Saturday, August 11, 2018 from 2-7PM and also Sunday, August 12 from 11am-1PM, the time of the funeral service, in the funeral home. VFW Post #5821 & the American Legion Post #0407 will conduct military services Sunday afternoon. Interment will be in the Blairsville Cemetery, Blairsville, PA.
