No major damage or injuries were reported in a fire yesterday in Brush Valley Township.
Indiana County 911 reported the fire call went out at 4:11 PM on Valley View Road in Brush Valley Township, and they had called Brush Valley, Armagh, Homer City, Coral-Graceton, and Cherryhill Township fire departments out, along with Citizen’s Ambulance. Brush Valley Fire Chief Richard Altemus said he actually cancelled the response by the other firefighters when they discovered that the fire was only a stove fire in the kitchen.
Altemus said that the fire was put out very quickly and there was only smoke damage to the kitchen.
