State police say speed was a factor in a crash where one person was injured in nearby South Bend Township in Armstrong County. The crash happened on July 27th on West Lebanon Road near Spring Hollow Road. 63-year-old Harold Frayer was driving on West Lebanon Road when he veered off the right side road. When the vehicle left the road, it hit a utility pole. The pole was broken and the damage to the vehicle was moderate. Frayer was injured and he was taken to Indiana Regional Medical Center for treatement of suspected minor injuries. The passengers in Frayer’s car were not injured.
Police are looking for a man who stole items from a truck in Cowanshannock Township. Police don’t say where the theft happened, but it happened last weekend between 9 PM on July 28th and 11 AM on the 29th. The thief took two Husqvarna Weed Trimmers, a backpack style leaf blower, and a bar chain saw. Total value of the stolen goods is $1300. The thief then fled the scene in an unknown direction. The investigation is continuing.
Police say that the driver involved in a crash Friday afternoon in Kittanning Township was under the influence of alcohol. The crash happened on Rupp Church Road around 12:50 PM on Friday. The driver, identified only as a 56-year-old man from Ford City, veered off of Rupp Church Road and hit a tree, totaling the vehicle. The driver was not injured, but was placed under arrest on suspicion of DUI.
