An Indiana man pleaded guilty in federal court yesterday to a drug-related charge.
According to a media release from the US Attorney’s office, 30-year-old Justin Kromer of Indiana pleaded guilty to one count of possession and distribution resulting in someone’s death. The plea was in connection with an incident on March 30th, 2016, when Kromer distributed stamp bags filled with a mix of heroin and fentanyl marked with the words “Block Party” to an un-named individual. That person died due to a drug overdose from the drugs he was provided. As part of his guilty plea, Kromer accepted responsibility for the person’s death.
Sentencing has been set for November 28th at 9:30 AM in federal court. Kromer will remain in federal custody pending his sentencing hearing. Based on the seriousness of the offense, Kromer could face up to twenty years in prison, up to $1 million in fines or both.
