INDIANA BOROUGH POLICE
Indiana Borough Police are investigating a theft that happened at a store in the 300 block of Philadelphia Street. Police were called out for a report of theft around 7:04 PM last Saturday. The victim stated that about $500 in gas, money and cards were taken from the store. The two suspects were described by the eyewitnesses as African-American men, one wearing grey sweatpants, a camoflauge shirt and a red hat. The other was wearing a red shirt and blue jeans. PSP-KITANNING
One person had suspected minor injuries in a crash on Wednesday. State Police in Kittanning say on July 18th, 19-year-old Samuel Hawk of Dayton was approaching the intersection of Wolf Drive and Route 839 in Cowanshannock Township and did not see a vehicle driven by 33-year-old Jesse Wright of Rural Valley coming into the intersection. Hawk pulled out into the intersection and collided with Wright’s vehicle. Wright had suspected minor injuries and was treated on scene by EMT’s from Armstrong County Memorial Hospital. Hawk was cited by police for failure to obey stop signs and yield signs.
State police in Kittanning are investigating an attempted burglary at a home in Boggs Township. Police say that a home on Route 1034 in Boggs Township was damaged as burglars tried to kick in a basement door. While they were successful in doing so, the homeowner arrived on the scene and the suspect or suspects fled the scene. Nothing was taken. State Police say two people were injured in a crash in on Route 839 in Cowanshannock Township last Sunday. Few details on how the crash happened, but police say that 66-year-old Sherri Hazmah of Dayton and a young passenger less than a year old were taken to ACMH for treatment of possible injuries. The two drivers, Alisha McElwain and Jesse Wheeler, both of Dayton, were uninjured in the collision at the intersection of Route 839 and Route 1028.
