Yesterday was “Christmas in July” at Idlewild Park in Ligonier, and Indiana County was also there as a way to market itself to park visitors.
Representatives with Indiana County Government, the Tourist bureau and the Christmas Tree Growers Association were on hand for the annual visit to the Ligonier park. Between 7000 and 9000 visitors were able to see what Indiana County had to offer yesterday, and along with hourly door prizes, The Tourist Bureau and the Christmas Tree Growers Association gave out 300 custom backpacks to visitors.
Indiana County Commissioner Rod Ruddock, who was also a part of the Indiana County contingency at the park, said that the Christmas in July event was a good opportunity to market the county.
Indiana County Residents can still get discounted tickets to Idlewild Park by going to the Indiana County Tourist Bureau.
