The Indiana School Board hired their new assistant superintendent at last night’s meeting.
The school board hired Robert Rizzo as the district’s new assistant superintendent for a five-year term. Rizzo had been the district’s Coordinator of Instructional Technology starting in September of last year, and also served as principal at Ben Franklin Elementary and assistant principal at the Senior High. Rizzo said that he looks forward to working with people in his new role and living up to the reputation of previous superintendents and assistant superintendents.
Superintendent Michael Vuckovich said that the hiring will actually combine Rizzo’s former position with his current position, which will also save the district approximately $170,000. Rizzo’s salary is still under negotiation.
In other business, the board approved a bid from Force Incorporated to pave the East Pike Elementary Parking Lot. That will be complete before the start of the school year.
