State Police are investigating a shooting in White Township involving a family’s cat. Police say the One-and-a-half year-old cat named “Cupcake” was shot in its front leg sometime between 7 PM and Midnight on Thursday at a home along Quincy Circle. The cat is in fine condition, according to police, and is awaiting surgery for broken bones. If you have any information on the shooting, call police at 724-357-1960.
Police have named a suspect in the theft of $200 from a cash register at the White Township Wal-Mart on June 12th. Police say the thief was Jeanine Renee Moore of Rochester Mills, and she faces charges of retail theft. Police say she was making a legitimate purchase at Wal-Mart, and when the cashier was making change, she stuck her hand in the drawer and came out with $200 in cash.
One person was injured Thursday morning in a one-vehicle crash on Route 22 in West Wheatfield Township. State Police say 32-year-old Phillip Kelly of Parkersburg, West Virginia, was driving east when he was distracted by his GPS device, and drove into the end of a center-dividng median. He was taken to Indiana Regional Medical Center for treatment of minor injuries.
