A man wanted on drug related charges was arrested on Thursday in Burrell Township.
Members of the Indiana Barracks of the State Police and the State Police Fugitive Unit along with the Indiana County Sheriff’s Department apprehended Vincent Lamar Jackson who had two bench warrants out of Indiana County and one warrant from Ohio. Police apprehended him at a home along Liekert Avenue in Burrell Township at noon yesterday. Jackson tried to flee out of the rear door, but police caught him quickly and he was placed into custody without incident.
When police searched the house, they found a bag of narcotics down the toilet as Jackson allegedly tried to flush the drugs down the toilet but they got stuck. Police found five grams of raw heroin, a half-ounce of crack cocaine, along with a trick Pringles can used to conceal items, empty stamp bags, a digital scale, a box of clear plastic bags and two cell phones.
Jackson was taken to State Police Barracks, where he was arraigned on charges of possession with intent to distribute, possession of drug paraphernalia, and other charges. Bail was set at $100,000 and Jackson was placed in Indiana County Jail to await court proceedings.
Jackson’s two other incidents date back to May and August of 2017. He had been free on bail in both cases.
