HAZEL EVANICK, 91

Hazel Erma (Tedeschi) Evanick, 93, of Blairsville, PA passed away on Tuesday, July 10, 2018 at her home.
The daughter of Egildo and Albina (Gabelli) Tedeschi, she was born February 28, 1925 in Bells Mills, Indiana Co., PA.
Mrs. Evanick was a member of SS Simon & Jude Roman Catholic Church, Blairsville, and the Angels of Compassion.
She enjoyed cooking and baking and was a giving person and no one turned down her gifts of food.
Surviving are her husband of 69 years, Stephen Joseph Evanick whom she married July 9, 1949; two daughters, Elaine Olsen (Jan) of Holland, Ohio and Annette Yackuboskey (Daniel) of Homer City; four grandchildren, Stephen Yackuboskey (Audrianna Davis), Scott Yackuboskey, Craig Olsen (Kristin) and Rebecca Olsen (Eric Bursky); three great grandchildren; two brothers, Alfred Tedeschi of Black Lick and James Tedeschi of Wickliffe, Ohio and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and six sisters, Anna Fernandez, Lena Strini, Inez Sontag, Jennie Moreno, Rose Caruso and infant Gemma Tedeschi.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 P.M. Friday at the Shoemaker Funeral Home, Inc., 49 N. Walnut St., Blairsville, PA where a Wake service will be held at 7:30 P.M. Friday. Prayers of transfer will be held at 9:15 A.M. Saturday at the funeral home followed by a funeral Mass at 10:00 A.M. in SS Simon & Jude Roman Catholic Church, Blairsville, PA with Fr. Stephen R. Bugay celebrant.
Interment will be in SS Simon & Jude Cemetery, Blairsville, PA.
A special thank you is extended to her caregiver, Debbie Davis, for the loving care she gave to Hazel and to the VNA Hospice staff.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice, in memory of Hazel.
