Several dozen defendants will be sentenced in Indiana County Court today, including one for crimes committed in 2009 and 2011.
30-year-old Christopher Stiffler finally pleaded guilty this year to charges in the four cases against him, after having gone missing in 2011 when his bail was revoked. Stiffler has had addresses in Johnstown and Clymer in past criminal filings. In May he pleaded guilty to felony robbery and burglary in separate filings for incidents on June 1st, 2009. He also pleaded guilty to a prohibited weapons offense in June of 2011, and to possession of a controlled substance in a case from September of that same year.
In all, seventeen defendants are scheduled to be sentenced for previous guilty pleas to a variety of crimes, many of them for several criminal filings. Some of them will also be involved in the seventeen Plea Court cases also scheduled in court today.
