The Altoona Curve pulled ahead early on homers by Logan Hill and Will Craig in beating Akron, 6-3, last night.
The Curve received a record 10 walks from the Rubberducks.
The series is tied at two games apiece with the finale set for tonight. Altoona is two and a half games behind Akron.
The Curve returns home for an Independence Day, five-game series opener against the Trenton Thunder on Wednesday.
