It’s a very busy day at the Indiana County Courthouse, with several dozen cases coming before the court. There are 44 cases to be resolved, with fourteen of them being sentencing proceedings for guilty pleas already entered, and thirty others involving defendants who will both plead and be sentenced, mostly for driving under the influence.
Among those scheduled to be sentenced in non-DUI cases are:
- 31-year-old John Manna III of Indiana, for statutory sexual assault and corruption of minors, with the victim 11 years old or older. Manna’s sentencing will also include consideration of an evaluation of his potential status as a sexual predator under the state’s Megan’s Law.
- 42-year-old John Charles Wise Jr. of Ernest, for theft by deception and receiving stolen property.
- 47-year-old Jack Szentmiklosi of Indiana, for bad checks.
DUI defendants who have already pleaded guilty and will be sentenced today include:
- 59-year-old George Stephens of Home.
- 42-year-old Eric Bella of Homer City.
- 31-year-old Philip Boring of Commodore, for DUI in one case and for fleeing or attempting to elude police in a second case.
- 39-year-old Matthew Saltsgiver of Robinson, for DUI and driving while suspended.
- 26-year-old Alexa Moore of Ambridge, for DUI controlled substance.
- 21-year-old Brielle Rodriguez of East Stroudsburg, for DUI in two separate cases.
- 26-year-old Lane Rowe of Lincoln, Delaware, for DUI controlled substance.
- 40-year-old Donny Clark of Indiana, for DUI high rate of alcohol and driving while suspended in two cases.
Several of those DUI defendants are among those who are also scheduled to plead and be sentenced in other DUI cases.
