Pennsylvania’s new 15th Congressional District includes all or part of fourteen counties, stretching as far south as Indiana and Cambria counties and as far north as Warren and McKean counties, on the New York border. The campaign for the seat will feature a political veteran from Centre County and a newcomer from Indiana County. Glenn “GT” Thompson is a six-term congressman from the old 5th District. He will contend with IUP professor Susan Bloser for the new seat, which came about as the state Supreme Court redrew the state’s congressional map.
Thompson’s campaign committee has announced the he will make his first public appearance in Indiana County as part of his “Listening & Learning” tour, next month.
On Monday, July 30th, Thompson will make a stop at the Pie Cucina Restaurant on East Brown Street in Blairsville. He will be there from 11:30 AM to 1 PM, and lunch will be provided. If you wish to go, the campaign is asking you to RSVP to Marcie@gtthompson.com by Thursday, July 26th.
Bloser’s campaign has not announced any campaign events as yet.
The new 15th District includes Indiana, Armstrong, Jefferson, Clearfield, Clarion, Venango, Forest, Warren, McKean, Cameron, Elk, and portions of Cambria, Centre and Butler counties.
