The Blairsville-Saltsburg school board approved the final budget, and the school calendar, for the 2018-19 school year.
The board approved the $31,388,596 budget with an anticipated $31,400,000 in expenditures, for a total deficit of $11,404.
The Real Estate tax rates for Indiana and Westmoreland counties will not increase, remaining unchanged for the tenth straight year.
The board also approved the ICTC budget, though Blairsville-Saltsburg’s share amount was unavailable at the time of the meeting.
In other news, the board approved the 2018-19 school calendar. The first day for teachers is set for August 17th, while the first day for students will be August 22nd.
Additionally, the board approved a list of long-term substitutes. According to Superintendent Jeff Soles, the substitutes will be focused in the elementary schools.
