Sunday’s police reports include a suspected car thief, an incident involving terroristic threats, and a two-vehicle collision.
Indiana Borough police caught a suspected car thief early Sunday morning on the IUP campus. 23-year-old Sean Painter of Shelocta is in the Indiana County Jail awaiting arraignment on charges of theft, receiving stolen property, escape, loitering and prowling, and public drunkenness.
Police pulled over a vehicle that was being driven erratically in the 200 block of South 6th Street at about 12:30 AM, but Painter fled from the vehicle on foot. Police say that Painter had just stolen the vehicle in the 500 block of Philadelphia Street. They found him later walking through the campus and took him into custody for public drunkenness upon a separate investigation by IUP police.
Painter is awaiting arraignment before District Judge Guy Haberl.
Indiana Borough police have filed charges of terroristic threats and harassment against 23-year-old Jakeb Schrecengost of Indiana. Police say Schrecengost threatened the life of a male victim Thursday afternoon in the 800 block of Philadelphia Street.
One person was injured Friday night in a two-vehicle collision on Oakland Avenue, near Rose Street in White Township. State police say 22-year-old Hadyn Greene of Punxsutawney was attempting to make a left turn into a gas station when he cut in front of and collided with a motorcycle operated by 29-year-old Joshua Stankewich of Blairsville.
