One week ahead of the state-mandated deadline, a new state budget has won approval in both the House and now the Senate.
Senator Don White released a statement on the passage of the budget, touting the overall increase in spending being below the rate of inflation and the fact that there are no new taxes involved in the budget. He also praised the increase in Medicaid reimbursements to EMS companies for their services. White, who sponsored a bill that would help EMS companies get compensated for calls that they do not transport anyone to the hospital for, said the increased funding would support these companies as they continue to protect people across the state.
The budget now heads to Governor Wolf’s Desk for his signature, which is due by June 30th.
