An Apollo woman is free on bond after being arraigned on fifteen criminal charges, twelve of them felonies, for allegedly ripping off a client she was assigned to care for in Westmoreland County.
53-year-old Cathy Lynne Mack is accused of stealing money from the Washington Township man, who noticed last September that two checks totaling $1,760 had been written on his account to her. Police discovered two other checks written to Mack, totaling $475 more, and further investigation revealed that she had allegedly opened a credit card in the victim’s name last July, charging more than $4,700 to it, and had taken a beach vacation trip to South Carolina. Police say she even used the victim’s car without his permission, including driving it to the South Carolina vacation.
At a preliminary hearing yesterday, Mack waived all of the charges to court. She is free on $25,000 unsecured bond.
