A number of criminal trials are scheduled for Indiana County Court this week, with jury selection scheduled to begin today.
One of the trials is that of 24-year-old Jeremy Stone of Indiana, who last month pleaded guilty to aggravated assault, simple assault, recklessly endangering, and retaliation against a victim or witness in a case involving an off-duty Indiana Borough Police officer last August. Stone attacked Officer Adam Lewis at the 4th Street Sheetz. He’s scheduled to be sentenced on August 10th. His trial this week is related to the attack on Lewis. He’s charged with resisting arrest, flight to avoid apprehension, two counts of disorderly conduct, and prohibited use of a bicycle, roller blades, or a skateboard for an incident four days before the Sheetz assault.
Jury selection is scheduled today for 31-year-old David Holbein of Rural Valley, who is facing trial in four separate criminal filings. The charges against him include possession of a controlled substance, two counts of possession of drug paraphernalia, DUI, defiant trespass, criminal trespass, conspiracy to burglary, and driving with a suspended license. All of the incidents, which include possessing heroin during a traffic stop on Oakland Avenue and entering the Walmart in White Township when prohibited from doing so, happened between November of last year and February of this year.
Jury selection will be held today for 27-year-old Kyle Rider of Homer City, who’s charged with possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia, along with driving offenses.
A jury will be chosen today for 24-year-old Zachary Giecek of Indiana, who is charged with theft by deception and receiving stolen property in January of 2017.
Jury selection is today for 61-year-old Ronald Murphy of New Alexandria, who is charged with theft by deception and bad checks, and a jury will be chosen for 31-year-old Joseph Ackers of Indiana, for possession of a small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia, along with driving violations.
Sentencing is scheduled for 27-year-old Brandon Mastarone of McGrann, Armstrong County, who pleaded guilty in April to possession with intent to deliver, and in a separate case to receiving stolen property.
28-year-old Kiara Purnell of Philadelphia will be sentenced for retail theft in January of this year.
39-year-old James Michael Oskey of Saltsburg will be sentenced to retail theft in a case from March of this year. There will also be revocation hearings for Oskaey for two previous retail theft convictions
41-year-old Ted Rohrabaugh of Seward will be sentenced for retail theft, in a case from July of last year.
