The IUP Football and Women’s Basketball teams have been tabbed as the IUP Crimson Hawks Teams of the Year as part of the Crimson and Grey Awards.
The football team, under first year Coach Paul Tortorella, won the PSAC Western Division Title, the PSAC Conference Title and advanced to the national semifinals of the NCAA Division II Playoffs. The 13-1 record tied a school record and Coach Tortorella won awards as Division II co-coach of the year, in addition to Super Region One and PSAC West Coach of the Year.
The women’s basketball team, led by Coach Tom McConnell, won the PSAC Western Division title, the Atlantic Region Championship and advanced to the national semifinals of the Elite Eight. The team set a school record by winning 30 games and Coach McConnell was named the PSAC West Coach of the Year.
