Jordy Mercer’s two-run double highlighted a four-run second inning and the Pirates held on for a 5-4 win over the Diamondbacks yesterday at Chase Field.
Jameson Taillon picked up the win, going seven innings.
Mercer also homered. Felipe Vasquez earned his 11th save.
The Pirates are off today and open a weekend series with the Reds Friday night.
