Another candidate has entered the race for the 62nd District State House seat now held by House Majority Leader Dave Reed.
Daniel A. Wilson of White Township yesterday announced his candidacy, saying he will be on the ballot in November as an Independent. Wilson is 46 years old. He is the owner of Throwbacks Resale Shop on Oakland Avenue. He is also a former Indiana Area School District employee who served as president of AFSCME Local 2772 for nine years.
Wilson says he is “a strong supporter of total property tax elimination and the right to own and (bear) firearms…a pro-life supporter and against any type of gerrymandering.” He also names the opioid crisis, education, welfare, and political term limits as top issues.
The ballot in November also will include Democrat Logan Dellafiora and Republican Jim Struzzi, who each won their primary election races in May.
