State Representative Chris Dush yesterday announced two state grants totaling more than $816,000 to help adults complete their interrupted high school education.
ARIN Intermediate Unite 28 will receive $368,512 in Adult Basic Education funding. Seneca Highlands IU 9 will get $448,000.
The funds come from the state Department of Education. Grants are awarded to help adults obtain the knowledge and skills necessary for employment and self-sufficiency. Dush says the allocations show that for anyone who has not yet received their high school diploma or G.E.D., there is not only hope, but assistance available. He says, “…it is critical that we look for ways to open doors for these adults to become qualified” for higher-paying jobs or the pursuit of higher education.
