The Pirates reeled off five runs in the sixth inning as they knocked off the Cubs, 7-1, at Wrigley Field to salvage one game in the three-game series.
Josh Harrison opened the game by hitting a home run. Gregory Polanco had a bases clearing triple, and Ivan Nova returned from the disabled list by giving up one run in five and two-third innings to secure the win.
The Bucs move on to Arizona to play the Diamondbacks tonight. Joe Musgrove will start. Game time is at 9:40 p.m. with pregame at 9:15 p.m.
