Former IUP football All-American quarterback Lynn Hieber is on the 2019 ballot for induction into the College Football Hall of Fame, released Monday by the National Football Foundation (NFF).
The 2019 class will be officially announced Monday, January 7, 2019 in Santa Clara, California.
The 2019 ballot includes 76 players and six coaches from the Football Bowl Subdivision and 100 players and 32 coaches from the divisional ranks.
Hieber earned back-to-back All-American honors for the then-Indians in 1974 and 1975. He led all of Division II in total offense in 1975, putting up 2,503 yards in leading IUP to an 8-1-1 record while earning ECAC Player of the Year honors.
Hieber graduated IUP with seven program records, including career total offense (5,793 yards), career passing touchdowns (30), and career completion percentage (52.5 percent).
Hieber is looking to join IUP greats Jim Haslett (2001) and Frank Cignetti (2013) in the Hall of Fame.
