A couple of bridge replacement projects are set to start in the area, and one of them begins today in northern Indiana County.
PennDOT says the bridge carrying Locust Lane over Canoe Creek in Canoe Township will close today and remain closed through late September. The posted detour will utilize Juneau Road, Route 119, Locust Road, Canoe Ridge Road, and Dug Hill Road.
The new bridge will be a two-lane, single-span structure with improved drainage, guide rails, and a railroad crossing warning system.
In Armstrong County, the bridge carrying Gastown Road over Cessna Run will close on June 11th between Old Elderton Hill Road and the Gastown Road intersection in Plumcreek Township. That project will also include intersection improvements at the Route 210 intersection, and a realignment of the intersection at Old Elderton Hill Road. PennDOT says the road is expected to reopen on July 26th.
