It looks like another tenant of the Indiana Mall will be leaving soon, but instead of going out of business, they are just moving.
Gardner’s Candies, a long time tenant at the mall, will transition to the Heatherbrae Square shops on Indian Springs Road. They feel the Indiana mall is suffering the same problems that other malls are facing, and they feel it in the best interest to move to a new location. According to Sam Phillips , President of Gardner’s, they found a property that works for them. They say the property will better serve their customers and the decision to move out was purely a business decision. Phillips said he was grateful to the Indiana Mall for their hospitality.
This is a trend that has happened with other mall-based Gardner’s locations as they have moved out of the Johnstown Galleria and the Dubois Mall. Their anticipated last day at the Indiana Mall will be the last day of August.
