In U.S. District Court yesterday, a former Pittsburgh man pleaded guilty to a single count of possession with intent to deliver a Schedule II controlled substance, the result of a traffic stop in Indiana in two years ago. 45-year-old Walter Porter faces a maximum sentence of up to thirty years in prison and a fine of as much as $2 million.
The incident occurred on April 14th, 2016 when a car in which Porter was riding was pulled over for a traffic violation. On the seat next to him, Indiana Borough Police found a green bag, and inside it there was a bag of white material hidden within a fake can of tire sealer. The state police crime lab later identified the material as approximately three grams of crack cocaine.
U.S. District Court Judge David Cercone scheduled sentencing for October 4th.
