If you drive on Indian Springs Road over the next two weeks, you’ll see many American flags posted. This is part of a project to pay tribute to heroes in our community.
The Mid-day Rotary club held the dedication ceremony last night for the “Flags for Heroes” at St. Andrew’s Village. Erick Lauber, one of the co-chairs for the event says the flags will honor not just veterans, but first responders and anyone who could be considered a hero.
The flags were purchased through donations to the program. One hundred flags are on the field, and each is adorned with a medallion that reads who that flag is dedicated to. The flags will remain up over the next two weeks.
