UPDATE: Power was restored to all REA Energy members around 6:50 this morning. Penelec customers in Marion Center are still without power. They are estimating that power will be restored around 8:30 AM.
There’s a power outage this morning for about 730 REA members in Northern Indiana County. The lights went out at about 2:15 this morning and as of 5:00 AM, the electricity still had not been restored.
REA’s outage map indicates a total of about 752 members affected by the outage. The utility does not indicate a cause or an estimate of how long it will be before power is back on. The primary outage area is Smicksburg, Trade City, West Mahoning and North Mahoning Townships.
Penelec is also reporting a power outage this morning, affecting 1-20 customers in the Marion Center area. The outage is due to equipment damage, but the cause of the damage is not known. Power is expected to be back up in Marion Center for Penelec customers by 7:30.
