Rev. Robert C. Teasdale, 72, of Cherry Tree, PA went home to be with the Lord from UPMC Shadyside in Pittsburgh, PA on Saturday, May 19, 2018.
The son of Otto U. and Agnes C. (See) Teasdale, he was born in Meadville, PA on June 12, 1945.
On May 17, 1974, he wed the former Alice J. (Miller) and on Thursday they celebrated their forty-fourth anniversary.
Rev. Teasdale was a 1979 graduate of the Allegheny Wesleyan College in Salem, OH.
Prior to entering the ministry, he had been employed by General Dynamics in San Diego, CA and General Electric in Erie, PA.
Since 1979 Rev. Teasdale had pastored Allegheny Wesleyan Churches located in Corry, PA; Princeton, PA and Wilgus, PA, where he served for twenty-four years, before obtaining his most recent pastorship in Mentcle, PA.
Rev. Teasdale was known for his sense of humor; his quick smile and his cheerful disposition. He thoroughly loved spending time with his grandkids and visiting with folks.
One of his favorite hobbies was carpentry, especially doing finish work. A man with patience and a discerning eye for detail, he enjoyed projects where he could work on intricate features, such as completing a large man of war ship. He further utilized his artistic tendencies by doing drawings. He also loved cars and going on bicycle rides.
Rev. Teasdale is survived by his wife, Alice Teasdale of Cherry Tree, PA; his daughter, Lori A. Teasdale and his three grandchildren: Derek; Alyssa and Keira Whippo, all of Cincinnati, OH and his two sisters: Janet Hecker of Edinboro, PA and Joan Beldin of Loudon, NH.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his two brothers: David and Dennis Teasdale.
Family and friends will be received from 6-9:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 22, 2018 and from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 23, 2018 at the Rairigh Funeral Home, Ltd. in Hillsdale, PA, where an 11:00 a.m. funeral service will take place on Wednesday immediately following the visitation. Officiants will be Rev. Mark Deeter; Rev. Steve Kunselman and Rev. David Blowers. Interment will follow at the Rowley Cemetery in Hillsdale, PA
