Indiana County voters had a few differences with voters statewide in a couple of races, including the Republican choice for governor. Scott Wagner won the GOP nomination to challenge incumbent Governor Tom Wolf, but Indiana County Republicans preferred Paul Mango by a narrow margin of 126 votes.
Jim Christiana took Indiana County’s Republican Primary for U.S. Senate by just eight votes over Lou Barletta, but Barletta won the nomination statewide, by a 63-37 percent margin, and it will be Barletta taking on incumbent Senator Bob Casey in the fall.
In an apparent nod to her political past, Peg Luksik won the Indiana County nod for lieutenant governor, but the nomination went to Jeff Bartos, with 47 percent of the vote statewide. Luksik finished fourth in that race across the commonwealth.
On the Democratic ballot, Casey and Wolf were unopposed in their primaries, and Braddock Mayor John Fetterman won both the statewide and Indiana County tallies for lieutenant governor. Incumbent Lieutenant Governor Mike Stack finished fourth in a five-candidate race both in Indiana County and the commonwealth.
The General Election candidates for State House will feature Logan Dellafiora against Jim Struzzi in the 62nd District; incumbent Chris Dush against Kerith Strano Taylor in the 66th; Jeff Pyle unopposed in the 60th; and Jeff Petrarca unopposed in the 55th.
Susan Boser will take on Glenn Thompson Jr. in the new 15th Congressional District.
