The two candidates to take over for current House Majority Leader Dave Reed were chosen last night during the 2018 Primary election.
With all precincts reporting in, Jim Struzzi won the republican nomination for the State House 62nd District Seat with 1907 votes. Struzzi said he will continue to focus on running a positive issue-based campaign going into the general election in the fall.
Julie Anderson was in second with 1623 votes. Indiana County Commissioner Mike Baker was in third with 850 votes and local businessman Shane Caylor was in fourth with 305 votes.
On the Democratic side, Logan Dellafiora overwhelmingly won the nomination with 2076 votes over Aaron Lehman’s 1146 votes. Right after the final numbers came in, Dellafiora said that he looks forward to uniting the district, and not play one political side over the other.
For the newly-redrawn 15th US Congress District, it will be an IUP Professor going against the Republican incumbent, as Susan Boser won the district by a wide margin with 20,077 votes across the district compared to Wade Jodun’s 6,787 votes.
All election results are unofficial until they are certified.
