PRIMARY ELECTION TODAY FEATURES RACES FOR STATE, FEDERAL OFFICES

It is Primary Election day in Pennsylvania, and Indiana County voters have a lot of choices to make on both the Republican and Democratic ballots.

For the Republicans, there are three candidates for governor:  Scott Wagner, Paul Mango, and Laura Ellsworth.  GOP voters will also select from Jim Christiana and Lou Barletta for U.S. Senate, as well as four candidates for lieutenant governor.  One candidate, Glen G.T. Thompson, is listed on the Republican ballot for the new 15^th Congressional District seat.

For the state House of Representatives, the Republican ballot features four candidates in the 62^nd District.  In order on the ballot, they are Shane Caylor, Julie Anderson, Jim Struzzi, and Mike Baker.  In the 66^th District, incumbent Chris Dush is unopposed, and in the 60^th, incumbent Jeff Pyle is unopposed.  No Republican filed for a ballot position in the 55^th District.

The Democratic ballot in today’s Primary has only incumbent Tom Wolf for governor and only incumbent Bob Casey for U.S. Senate.  There are four candidates for lieutenant governor.  Susan Boser and Wade Jodun are vying for the Democratic nomination for the 15^th Congressional District.

For state House, Democrats will choose between Aaron Lehman and Logan Dellafiora in the 62^nd District.  Keith Strano Taylor is the lone candidate for the 66^th District.  No one filed in the 60^th.  Incumbent Joseph Petrarca is unopposed in the 55^th.

Both Democrats and Republicans are also choosing their respective committee members today.  Polls are open from 7 AM to 8 PM across the county.
