Family members, veterans, and others came together Saturday to dedicate a new Rayne Township bridge in honor of United States Marine Corps Private First Class Frank Enzer Weiss.
The bridge over Pine Run Creek pays tribute to Weiss, a native of Tanoma who was killed in action on March 18th, 1968 while serving as a rifleman with his Marine Amphibious Force in Quang Tri Province in South Vietnam. Joining Representative Chris Dush, who sponsored the legislation to name the bridge the “PFC Frank Enzer Weiss United States Marine Corps Bridge,” were members of the Clymer American Legion Post 222, the Indiana County Sheriff’s office, and the Marion Center School District Junior ROTC.
