A Westmoreland County Court jury yesterday found a Saltsburg man guilty of thirteen offenses in a series of sexual assaults involving a young girl over a four-year period.
50-year-old Bryan Harrold was convicted on two counts each of rape of a child, involuntary deviate sexual intercourse, aggravated indecent assault and indecent assault, both noting the victim was thirteen years old or younger, and corruption of minors, plus a single count of endangering the welfare of a child.
Harrold was arrested in November of 2016 for the incidents which began in February of 2011. The girl is now 17 years old, but was 10 when the incidents began.
The jury deliberated for over two hours before returning the verdict. Harrold’s attorney claimed in his final argument that the girl had concocted her story and that there is reasonable doubt. He did not call the defendant to testify on his own behalf.
Prosecutors indicated that they will seek a mandatory minimum sentence of sixty years in prison.
