Police report incidents involving theft, public urination, and obstructing highways.
Indiana Borough Police report that shortly before 2:30 Sunday morning, they and Citizens Ambulance were summoned to the 600 block of Philadelphia Street to assist a reported assault victim. While there, 23-year-old Victoria Christine Lopez of Philadelphia entered the roadway, screaming at officers. Lopez reportedly ignored multiple orders to stay out of the roadway and to stop being disorderly. Lopez was issued summary citations for Disorderly Conduct and Obstructing Highways.
Borough police have also charged Mitchell Imray of Port Perry, Ontario, with harassment and public urination for an incident Saturday afternoon on South 7th Street. Police say he was urinating in broad daylight when he was observed by a motorist. He then threatened the woman who witnessed him with physical violence when she called police.
State police investigations include the theft of jewelry from the YMCA in Indiana last month. The theft was discovered on April 9th at 6:45 PM and involved “assorted jewelry.” Police do not describe how the jewelry went missing (or from where), nor do they set a value on the missing items.
Police are also investigating a shoplifting incident at the White Township Walmart store. The suspect is an unknown white female. Merchandise valued at $69.43 was stolen.
