As we continue to advance closer to the summer travel season, gas prices in our region are holding steady for now.
Gas prices in Indiana County are averaging about $3.06 a gallon for regular unleaded gasoline, according to GasBuddy.com. That’s still higher than the average price of gas across the state, which checks in at $3.01 a gallon. The statewide average is actually down 1.3 cents from last week at this time.
Gas prices are predicted to get higher as we get closer to summer as summer blend gasoline is expected to go into production soon. While Indiana County is not one of the seven counties required to pump summer blend gas, the price is expected to go up as regular gas may become harder to come by because it’s production usually goes down when summer blends go into production.
