State Representative Chris Dush has announced $30,327 in state funding for the Marion Center School District’s two elementary schools.
The food service equipment grants total $15,163.50 each for the W.A. McCreery and Rayne elementary schools to purchase and install a combi oven at both schools. Those ovens allow for convection, steam, or combination cooking.
The grants are from the federal Department of Agriculture’s Food & Nutrition Service, and are intended for schools in which fifty percent or more of the students are eligible for free or reduced-price meals. The funds are distributed through the state Department of Education.
