The Indiana School District hired a new Superintendent and some new coaches at last night’s special meeting.
After four months of searching, the school board voted to hire Michael Vuckovich as the superintendent of the Indiana School Board, with his term officially starting on September 1st and running until June 30th of 2023. The board also named Vuckovich as the Assistant Superintendent for Strategic Planning and Staffing from July 1st to August 31st of this year as the district transitions from current Superintendent Dale Kirsch to Vuckovich. Vuckovich said he was honored to have been given the chance to work in Indiana.

Vuckovich was serving in his second year as the substitute superintendent in the Greater Johnstown school district, and in April, was in Indiana to answer questions from the public, with many of them dealing with the Summit Learning Platform and how to help students improve their grades.
Also the board hired Brandon Overdorff as the head football coach for the Senior High Football Team. Overdorff coached at Purchase Line from 2012 to 2016 and had a 21-29 record as he was rebuilding their program. He has a lot of experience in High School Football from a player’s mindset as he played for Purchase Line from 1988 to 1990, and held the county record for most rushing yards at 4,012 until the record was broken in in 2009 by Danny Ferens of Penns Manor.
The board also hired Matthew Reed as the High School Golf Coach and Dana Kundla as the Girls Volleyball Coach.
