Police report an altercation that left three men facing charges, an incident of vandalism, and two crashes.
Indiana Borough police say three men are facing charges after a disturbance early Sunday in the 600 block of Philadelphia Street. Police say an intoxicated 21-year-old Steven Gomez of York was removed from an establishment for starting an altercation. He then attempted to return, but got into an altercation with staff members. Police were summoned but Gomez fought with them and with paramedics who had been called to assist him. He was taken into custody and charged with disorderly conduct, public drunkenness, and resisting arrest. Another man, 22-year-old Gayah Karmo of Sharon Hill, PA, is accused of grabbing a paramedic who was assisting Gomez and pulling him to the sidewalk. Karmo was arrested and charged with obstructing emergency services and with public drunkenness. A third man, 21-year-old Kyle Tashjian of Malvern, PA, is accused of creating a disturbance at the scene. He is charged with disorderly conduct and public drunkenness.
Borough police also say an unknown vandal broke two sections of PVC fencing at a home in the 700 block of Wayne Avenue between 10 o’clock Friday night and 9 o’clock Saturday morning. Anyone with information is asked to call police at 349-2121.
No one was injured Saturday afternoon in a single-vehicle crash on South Main Street in Homer City. State police do not identify the driver, a 37-year-old man from Black Lick who had a single passenger, a 16-year-old boy. Nor do they provide any details on the circumstances of the accident.
A Cherry Tree man suffered minor injuries Thursday morning in a crash on Route 580 in Green Township. State police say 25-year-old Adam Deabenderfer fell asleep at the wheel at 6:16 AM, traveling off the road and hitting a tree. He was taken to the Indiana Regional Medical Center.
