The White Township Supervisors have pledged up to $5000 to match funds that have been raised to help fix up one of the township’s ballfields.
The ballfield at Kennedy-King Park is part of an upgrade project that has been funded by DCNR Funds, and township manager Milt Lady said a lot of work has already gone into the project. The Softball boosters use the ball field that was part of the upgrades at the park, and requested that a permanent outfield fence and backstop extensions be put in.
So far, $5000 has been raised by the Indiana Softball Boosters to help erect a permanent outfield fence and extend the backstop for the softball field, and another $5000 for that project is anticipated from the Indiana School District. Should that money come in, the township will match up to $5000 to cover the remaining costs of the project.
In other business, the Spring Road Tour of road work areas will happen May 2nd. After that, updates are expected to come for the Risinger Road project and for a citizen’s request for streetlights at the Route 422/954 interchange. Those updates will come at their meeting on May 9th, along with the bid opening on Road Paving and Seal-Coat contract work.
