Each year, PennDOT issues a statement on behalf of each of its district offices highlighting upcoming construction projects. Yesterday, it was District Ten’s turn, featuring 107 highway and bridge projects planned this year in Armstrong, Butler, Clarion, Indiana, and Jefferson counties.
District Ten is based in Indiana County. The PennDOT release touted three major projects within the county, two of which are continuations of multi-year projects that have already started. The $15.2 million Route 119 Three Bridges project in Center Township began last summer in the wake of another major multi-year project, at Route 119 and Luzerne Road in the same area. The Three Bridges project is slated for completion in late fall of next year.
The $16 million Route 119 Grove Chapel climbing lane and realignment project in Rayne Township began in June of 2016 and is expected to be finished in November of this year.
The $5.5 million Route 422 Penn Run, North Harmony to Route 403 resurfacing project in Cherryhill and Pine townships began this week and will be completed by the end of September.
PennDOT says it is investing more than $331 million this year in District Ten, involving 129 miles of highways and 39 bridges.
