Kenneth Ray Ryen, 79, of Rochester Mills, PA, died on Sunday, April 22, 2108 at his home.
The son of Allen Irvin and Amanda Manilla (Potts) Ryen, he was born on November 5, 1938 in Rochester Mills, PA.
Ken served as a Private in the Army Reserves in the 1950’s with Btery A 776 AFA BN, Punxsutawney, PA.
For eighteen years Ken was employed as an equipment operator for PennDot at the Indiana & Smithport locations. He was also a Grant Township Supervisor and then the Grant Township road master for a number of years.
Ken was a member of the Oddfellows Alert Lodge #936 of Rochester Mills, PA. An outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Considered a man of all trades, Ken was known as the town handyman.
He married Vera Elizabeth (Yohe) Ryen on August 3, 1957.
Ken is survived by his wife of over sixty years, Vera; his four children: twin sons Michael Roy “Ziggy” Ryen and Morgan Ray “Sonny” Ryan and wife, Mary; Brenda Lee Dings and husband, Michael and Nancy Lou Posa; his six grandchildren: Chris Craig; Casey Ryen; Chad Ryen; Ryan Parris; Joseph Posa and Jordan Williams; his seven great-grandchildren and his brother, Eugene Ryen.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his son: Sidney Ryen; his grandson: Michael L. Ryen; his four sisters: Joyce Simpson; Shirley Ryen; Rose Gorman and Goldie Pardee and his six brothers: Rex; Irvin; Roy; Jim; Bud and Blaine Ryen.
Family and friends will be received from 6-9:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 25, 2018 and again on Thursday, April 26, 2018 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the 11:00 a.m. funeral service at the Rairigh Funeral Home, Ltd. in Hillsdale, PA. Interment will be at the Pine Grove Cemetery in Rochester Mills, PA.
